Rebuilding Iraq with Iraqis

SUCCESS TO DATE:

Since for our partnership in May of 2003 we have been involved with the following projects:

Project RIO - (Reinstate Iraqi Oil)

For this project we have employed expatriate technical personnel from the UK, US and Canada. These individuals have been involved with conducting surveys of various Oil & Gas Installations throughout Iraq. This work continues today and several of our employees have completed two rotations back to their home base for R&R.

Project RIE (Reinstatement of Iraqi Electricity)

In November Michael Child and Ali Issa Taha from The Iraqi-American Services Company met with met with representatives of the US Corps of Engineers in Baghdad to discuss the work that is required to repair the transmission lines and power generation facilities throughout Iraq.

USAID - Lucent Technologies

Telecommunications Project –This is the first project where we have been able to employ Iraqi nationals. We hired approximately 30 telecommunications technicians to assist in repairing the telephone system in Iraq. This effort has been a very successful and we continue to expand our capabilities in this area.

Motorola – NEC Telecommunications project as a subcontractor to a major Kuwaiti telecommunications contractor. We have employed Iraqi nationals in the capacity of Microwave engineers and technicians

Recruitment of Iraqi Nationals -
We continue to expand the number of Iraqi nationals in our database. This database covers a broad range of disciplines and includes professionals, technical personnel, trades people, drivers, translators and general labor.

Payroll – Our systems are in place in Iraq to pay an unlimited number of local employees either in cash or by check.

Safety Training – We are about to start safety training for all our Iraqi employees and they will all be provided with protective equipment as is appropriate.

Pre-employment background checks - We are about to designate a full time security officer who will conduct pre-employment security screening for each person we hire.
